Clarence Edgar Lewis, 100, of Augusta, KS, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sat. morning, Aug. 2, 2008, at the South Wind Hospice House, Pratt, KS.

MULLINVILLE - Mable Irene McCormick, 94, died July 26, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center, Dodge City. She was born September 14, 1913, in Ionia, Michigan, the daughter of Deuaine and Nellie Gorhman Spencer.

Nora Darlene Woods, 71, was born in Abilene Kansas to Ernest Harrison Cole and Cora (Van Ness) Cole on January 24, 1937 and died suddenly in her home in Hermitage Missouri on July 21, 2008.

Hutchinson (Greensburg) – Roddy Dale Sutton, 61, passed away on July 20, 2008 at the Hospice House of Reno County.

 Dorothy Jean Snyder, 79, died July 15, 2008, at Hill Top House Nursing Home, Bucklin.

 William “Willie” J. Abrams, 78, died July 9, 2008, at Veterans Administration Center, Long Beach, Calif.

Sheldon G. Jackson, former president of Friends Bible College now Barclay College, Haviland, KS died June 27, 2008 in LaVerne, California.   Sheldon was born on June 5, 1918 in Cherokee, OK to Ralph and Marva (Coppock) Jackson.  He was born on the original Coppock homestead claim from the Cherokee Strip Land rush of 1893.  His parents were Quaker ministers in Texas and Kansas.

  Funeral services for 67-year-old LeRoy Schwertfeger are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 16 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church.

   A resident of Mullinville since 1987, Warren E. Becklund died at his home there Monday at the age of 87.  Memorial services are set for Friday, June 13, 11 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Pratt, Rev Timothy Henning presiding.

Graveside services for former Greensburg Ruth Rich are schedule dfor Thursday, June 12, 2 p.m. at Soldier Creek Cemetery, Belvidere.  Born Ruth Cook to Rev. Ellis T. and Ferne Cook in Spokane, WA, Rich was a 1965 graduate of Haviland High.
