Two McPherson women were killed in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 54 east of Greensburg
A two-vehicle accident east of Greensburg on Aug. 28 has claimed the lives of two McPherson women. Killed in the accident were 56-year-old Mary Garrison and 75-year-old Patsy Lambert, both of McPherson.
The accident occurred around 2:35 p.m. Monday when Garrison was eastbound on U.S. 54 in a 2015 GMC Terrain about four miles east of Greensburg. The Terrain crossed the center line and crashed head-on with a westbound 1986 Peterbilt semi, driven by 35-year-old Anthony Rigdon of Skiatook, Okla., according to the Kansas Highway Patrol on-line crash log.
Both Garrison and Lambert were transported to Western Plains Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. It's unknown if either woman was wearing a seat belt. Rigdon, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, was not injured and did not go to a hospital.
