  • The Meade Lady Buffaloes lost their shooting touch after the opening quarter in losing to the Central Plains Lady Oilers 60-45 in a Class 2A girls state semifinal contest at Bramlage Coliseum.
    Meade trailed only 16-14 after the opening quarter, but the unbeaten Lady Oilers continued to shoot the ball well in the second quarter to build a nine-point lead by halftime. The Lady Buffaloes shot 9-of-33 in the first half.
    Central Plains pushed the lead up to double digits in the third quarter and shot 50 percent from the floor (11-of-22) in the second half to seal the victory.
    Jaylin Stapleton scored 16 points to lead the Lady Buffaloes (20-5). Taylor Rolfs scored 19, Breanna Holmes 12 and Reagan Phelan 10 to lead Central Plains (25-0).
    Meade will face Washington County in the third place game scheduled for noon Saturday.
