I’m always up for a good beer pun and a creative beer name.

After today, I have a new favorite beer name and it’s going to be tough for anyone to beat – the Marzen Scorsese Oktorberfest Lager from the Tap Brewing Company.

MarzenI instantly laughed when I saw the name. There have been several great beer names throughout the years – Jack’s Abby Brewing Company’s Maibock Hurts Like Helles, Flying Dog’s In Heat Wheat and Dogfish Head’s Prescription Pils all come to mind – but Marzen Scorsese beats them all.

In the scheme of things, the name really doesn’t matter, what’s in the bottle does. I’m confident in the Tap’s ability to come out with a fine beer, so I’m not worried about quality.

Can you beat Marzen Scorsese? What are some of your favorite beer names.
