Headrick was the top offensive player of the Lady Mavericks this season. She led in points per game (8.4), total season points (176) and free throw percentage (.790) sinking 23-of-29 from the free throw line. Like Caleb Davis (also a Maverick MVP this season), Headrick was a strong outside shooter sinking 31-of-104 (.298), an improvement from last year’s .240 shooting percentage from behind the 3-point line.
She was fourth in overall field goal percentage (.320), third in overall assists (16) and third in offensive rebounds (30).
Through only 5’7”, Headrick led the Lady Mavs in total defensive rebounds (79) and was second in total rebounds (109).
She was ranked third in the Southern-Plains Iroquois District top three-point shooters behind Ashland’s Elizibeth McKinney and Canaan Endicott.
“When she was hot, she was hot,” said one voter. “If she could sink a 3 pointer early in the game I knew we had a chance for the win.”
“She was the leader of the team,” said another voter. “She sees the floor extraordinarily well and is a great passer.”
