Vitamin C is an important part of a healthy diet.
During this winter season several of my friends and family have been victims to the dreaded cold, some not so serious and others wiped out for over a week. I'm a firm believer in keeping healthy through the use of vitamin C. Some studies claim taking a daily supplement of vitamin C doesn't prevent one from getting a cold, it just improves the changes of getting over the cold more quickly. I use vitamin C on a daily basis and am grateful for my ability to maintain my health, especially during the cold season.
I also strive to maintain my health through diet. For many years I was under the misconception vitamin C only came from citrus. But as I got older and wiser, I discovered my health could be balanced with other fruits including strawberries, kiwi, cantaloupe, pineapple, cranberries and raspberries. Then I became REALLY wise when I learned vitamin C can also come from vegetables! Some of my favorites include bell peppers, red cabbabe, tomatoes, beets and lettuce.
