This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost Sunday.

This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost Sunday.  Fifty days have passed since we celebrated Jesus’ resurrection.  Ten days have passed since Jesus’ ascension to heaven and his instructions to the disciples to go to Jerusalem and wait for the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost and ushered in a new era.  The Counselor arrived and empowered the church to bring the gospel to the nations.  Today and especially this Sunday the Spirit is with us, giving us a voice to spread the Good News individually and corporately.  I encourage you to ask God to speak specifically to you this morning as we encounter the Bread of Life and celebrate God’s mighty acts of salvation in Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.  “Remember that the harvest of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  The Spirit is our source of life.  Let us therefore walk by the Spirit.” Amen. (Galatians 5:22-23, 25) The Lord be with you.  Jared Ross, worship leader, HFC.
