Dorothy A. Fry, 96, died February 11, 2012 at Lakepoint-Carriage House of Greensburg. She was born August 12, 1915 in Brookline, Missouri, the daughter of George and Elsie Pearl (Freeman) Fry. A World War Two veteran Dorothy served in the Women's Air Force for twenty-seven years retiring as a Technical Sergeant. She was an administrative assistant. She was stationed at Coffeyville, Tacoma, Washington, Hawaii, Germany, Pensacola, Florida, and Colorado Springs, Colorado. She also lived in Arapaho, Oklahoma, Almartha, Missouri, Macksville, Hutchinson, and Greensburg since 2002. She was a member of V.F.W. at Greensburg. Dorothy is survived by a brother Charley Fry, Bakersfield, California, and a sister Ruby Thompson and husband James, Greensburg, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by seven brothers Benjamin, Eddie, Livingston, Calvin, John, David and Daniel Fry, and by a sister Frances Bates.
Funeral Services and celebration of Dorothy's life were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Greensburg Christian Church, Greensburg, with Rev. Dick Robbins officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. Memorials are suggested to the Carriage House of Greensburg and Hospice of the Prairie, both in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S. Main St., Greensburg, Kansas, 67054.
