The Detroit Lions (0-1) visit the Green Bay Packers (0-1) for the Week 2 Monday Night Football game. Kickoff at Lambeau Field is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we look at the Lions vs. Packers odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Lions lost their opener at home to the San Francisco 49ers 41-33. Detroit trailed 38-10 with 8:04 remaining in the third quarter before rallying for a backdoor cover of the spread as a 9.5-point underdog. The Lions scored two touchdowns in the final 1:53, and the Over (46) easily hit.

The Packers flopped in their opener as 4-point favorites. They were kept out of the end zone in a 38-3 loss to the New Orleans Saints in a game that was moved from Louisiana to Jacksonville, Fla., due to Hurricane Ida. No Green Bay touchdowns helped the Under (48.5) cash.

Lions at Packers odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Packers 38, Lions 30

Money line

PASS.

Green Bay will win, and Packers QB Aaron Rodgers will improve to 18-5 in his career vs. Detroit. However, backing a -700 favorite (in any sport) is not wise sports gambling.

Against the spread

DETROIT + 11.5 (- 110) is the way to go.

While Rodgers should rebound from last week's unproductive outing vs. the Saints (133 passing yards, 0 TDs, 2 picks) covering a double-digit spread in any division rivalry is a tough ask.

The Packers are 4-0 in the last four head-to-head meetings but just 1-3 ATS. Plus, Detroit is 7-1 ATS in the last eight in the series.

Detroit QB Jared Goff, who threw for 338 yards and 3 TDs with 1 interception in his Lions debut last week, is 1-1 in his career vs. the Packers, including 0-1 on the road.

Expect Goff to be extra motivated in this one. His Lambeau loss was just eight months ago. It turned out to be his final game with the Los Angeles Rams, a 32-18 NFC Divisional Round defeat Jan. 16, when he threw for 174 yards with just 1 TD and was sacked 4 times.

Over/Under

OVER 49.5 (- 105) is the STRONGEST PLAY - 1½ times your usual wager.

Both head-to-head contests combined for at least 55 points last season. Green Bay won 31-24 in Detroit in December and 42-21-in September.

Plus, offenses seem to pick up the scoring when playing on prime-time television. The Over is 5-0 in the marquee TV games so far this season.
