Sandra "Sandy" Kay Hetrick

Pratt - Sandra "Sandy" Kay Hetrick, 83, passed away October 5, 2021 at Southwind Home, Pratt, Kansas. She was born February 18, 1938 in Stafford, Kansas to Charles Vincent Hetrick and Reta (Payne) Hetrick.

She went to Golden Valley grade school and was a Pratt High School graduate in 1956 and then attended Emporia State College obtaining her Masters of Library Science . She then received her Media Specialist degree from Boulder Colorado.

A sense of adventure took her teaching career to New Jersey, Colorado, Midway Island, Germany, and Texas where she retired in 2001 before returning to her native Pratt County.

Her hobbies included reading, travel, playing cards, visiting friends and family, and watching college football and basketball.

She volunteered her expertise at the Pratt County Historical Society Museum. Sandy enjoyed meeting and helping people. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Pratt, KS., and was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, Delta Epsilon Chapter.

She is survived by Sister, Vicki (Wendell) Howell of Pratt, KS; . Niece, Kimberly D. Howell, Raleigh, NC., Nephew Jason (Pam) Howell, Preston, KS., and great niece Ruby Diane Howell, Topeka, KS.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Reta.

Cremation has taken place and Memorials services will be at a later date.
