Charles Frank Rinke
Pratt - Charles Frank Rinke, 88, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021. He was born on April 11, 1933 in Medicine Lodge to George Gardner and Ruth Adelia (Palmer) Rinke. Charles married JoAnn Elizabeth (Ricke) Rinke on July 8, 1953 in Sharon, Kansas. They were married for 68 years.
Charles attended Medicine Lodge Grade School, Hazelton High School and graduated from Sharon High School in 1952. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He owned Rinke Office Products and served as County Commissioner for 20 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rotary Club, Green Valley Golf Association, Sacred Heart School Board, Girl Scouts Council Member and City Planning Commission. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, remodeling homes, cars, bicycling, motorcycles, playing golf and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; children, Teri (Larry) Crockett of Udall, Greg (Julie) Rinke of Lawrence, Linda (Mark) Kumberg of Pratt and Ann (Mark) Greathouse of Lee's Summit, Missouri; grandchildren, Tracy (Fiance', Jon) Crockett, Carla (Adam) Riopel, Stacy Kumberg, Kirsten (Brycen) Byrd, Cole (Emily) Kumberg, Isaac Rinke, Grace (Luciano) Fasani, Kaitlynn (Joshua) Bailey and Helen Loeffelholz; 10 great grandchildren; and brothers and sisters in-law, Phyllis Davis of Wichita, Delmar (Bev) Ricke of Harper, Ken Ricke of Sharon, Ruth Blick of Attica, Lou (Nancy) Ricke of Woodstock, Georgia, Steve Ricke of Wichita, Kathy (Joe) Hart of Amarillo, Texas, Ron (Sheila) Ricke of Sharon, Randy (Jeanette) Ricke of Harper, Jan (Neil) Feld of Garden City and Dorene Reeves of Pratt.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents; cherished parents in-law, Albert and Mary Ricke; long time guardians, grandmother Minnie Palmer and uncle David Palmer; special brother, Kenny Nichols; sisters in-law, Betty Lantzy and Carolyn Hrencher; and brothers in-law, Tom Ricke and Jerry Ricke.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Rosary will be held at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2021 with Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:00 a.m. both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pratt with Father Charles Atuah presiding. Burial with military honors will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
