Geraldine Belle McAhren

Byers - Geraldine Belle McAhren, 101, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Dove Estates in Goddard. She was born on September 15, 1919 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City to Howard Eugene and Bertha Belle (Pike) Giles. Geraldine married Glenn Dale McAhren on March 10, 1940 in Hopewell. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2008.

Geraldine was a member of Pleasant Plain Friends Church, HDU, Sweet Adelines and was a 4-H Leader. She enjoyed playing piano at church, knitting, quilting, attending National JUCO basketball tournaments and singing in a quartet.

She is survived by her daughter, Jerrie McAhren of Wichita; son, Stan (Sharon) McAhren of Byers; sister, Nelva Lea Denbo of Red Bluff, California; grandson, Travis McAhren of Byers; and several nieces and nephews.

Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; brother, Alexander Giles; and nephew, Steven Denbo.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Burial was in Pleasant Plain Cemetery. Per family request, masks are encouraged.
