Curtis E. Huitt

Pratt - Curtis E. Huitt, 92, passed away peacefully, June 18, 2021 at Parkwood Village in Pratt. He was born November 4, 1928 in Coats, Kansas to Ellis W. Huitt and Hattie (Trask) Huitt. He was raised in Cullison, Kansas.

Curtis married Dora Pearson on January 15,1949 in Cullison Kansas. She passed away July 25, 2013.

Curtis farmed for many years with his brother. He served as a Director on the Board of the Federal Land Bank from 1974 to 1994. He was the manager of the Pratt Equity Exchange for many years. After retiring from the Pratt Equity Exchange, he became the owner and operator of Pratt Air, Inc., in 1978, which today is still operated by his son Randy. His love of flying was only exceeded by the love he had for his wife, children and grandchildren. Curtis also loved Colorado and has a home in Cuchara, Colorado and also loved spending time at his hunting cabin in La Garita, Colorado. The Huitt family has always had a cabin at 99 Springs where many good times are still enjoyed.

He is survived by his five children, Cheryl (Pierre) Michaud of Corpus Christi, Texas, Debbie (Alan) Kruse, Hutchinson, Kansas, Cathy Huitt, Corpus Christi, Texas, Randy (Janet) Huitt Pratt, Kansas and Chris (Susan) Huitt of Pittsbrug , Kansas. A brother Ellis (Phyllis) Huitt, Jr. of Cullison, Kansas. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren

Curtis is preceded in death by his Parents,wife, Dora Jean Huitt, sister Maxine Nash and great grandson Curtis Easton Shipman.

Curtis will be dearly missed by his family and numerous friends and associates throughout his lifetime.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm with family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Larrison Mortuary 300 Country Club Rd. Pratt, KS 67124.

A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 23, 2021 with John Hamm presiding in Greenlawn cemetery, Pratt, Kansas.
