Enough Mavericks for doubles and singles entries this year at Greensburg.
Katherine Sneed is entering her second year as the Kiowa County High School girls tennis team. The Lady Mavs lost one senior to graduation, but have returners Kaiden Brunkow and Rosie Libby. Brunkow just barely missed qualifying for state. Sneed will look to Brunkow to lead the team. Liberty Gilkey and Elizabeth Sneed will both be newcomers to the tennis team.
“Both girls will bring a good work ethic, athletic ability, and energy to the court,” said Sneed about her new players.
Something Coach Sneed is looking forward to is having enough players to play both doubles and singles. She believes Brunkow has the potential to qualify for state. Sneed is also looking forward to watching her other players grow throughout the season and see the progress they make through hard work and dedication.
The Lady Mavs JV will started their season at the Cimarron JV tournament on September 3, while the varsity players will compete for the first time at the Pratt Tournament on September 14.
