Bo West takes grand market award at 2019 Kiowa County Fair.

The goat show at the Kiowa County Fair was held Wednesday, July 17. In senior goat showmanship Bo West received grand champion, edging out Halle Young who was reserve grand champion, and Brock Hassiepen who was awarded a blue ribbon. Brett West couldn’t be outdone by his older brother, and won his own junior showmanship class, while Riley Young kept up with big sister Halle, also winning receiving grand champion.
Cierra Curtis, Sayre Hassiepen, Adele Janssen, and Macy Price all received blue ribbons for their hard work.
The mMarket class was split into two divisions for the goats; middleweight and lightweight. Brett West received top blue in the lightweight class, and Riley Young received top blue in the middleweight class. These two would go head to head in the ring once again to see who had the best goat of the 2019 fair. That award went to Brett West’s lightweight animal. Riley Young received reserve grand champion overall goat.
The Breeding Doe class was won by Macy Price, who received grand champion, followed by Cierra Curtis with reserve grand champion, and Adele Janssen, who earned blue.
4-Hers brought in nannies and kids for a special class.
