Great Bend homicides connected to robbery plea
GREAT BEND – A Texas woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of aggravated robbery and one count of obstructing apprehension in connection with the July 2018 deaths of a Wichita couple killed in Great Bend.
Christine M. Tenney, 39, of La Marque, Texas, pleaded guilty to the two counts in Barton County District Court, according to a release from Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt. District Judge Steve Johnson accepted the pleas. Sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
Tenney was charged with the crimes in connection with the July 2018 deaths of Alfred “Sonny” Carpenter and Pauline Carpenter.
In March, Michael Fowler, Jr., 54, of Sarasota, Florida, pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder and one count of theft in the case.
Related charges against three other defendants remain pending.
