Rudolph “Rudy” John Grapper, 81, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 at his home in Pratt. He was born February 19, 1937 in Prior Lake, Minnesota to John and Marie (Blohm) Grapper.  On December 16, 1968 he married Sarah Jane (Billman) Grapper in Lakeville, Minnesota. She survives.

Rudy worked as a Chief Inspector in the Oil and Gas Industry.  He was also a welding inspector, Construction Technician, Corrosion Technologist and was N.A.C.E. Certified. He was a very career oriented man and enjoyed his work. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the National Rifle Association. He served in the United States Army as well. He loved his family and making sure everyone else was okay. He enjoyed watching football and was an avid animal lover.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah; children, Randy Grapper of Oklahoma, Mary Marquardt of Pratt, Dennis Grapper of Virginia, JoAnne (J.D.) Thompson of Holton, Ronald (Lisa) Grapper of Florida, Barb Grapper of Minnesota, Kathy (Gus Delvo) Grapper of Pratt, Sandy (Clay) Troyer of Stafford and Bonnie Grapper of Pratt; grandchildren, Kristin (Andy) Frisbie, Jarrod (Morgan) Thompson, Kendra Thompson, Ashley, Matthew and Cody Grapper, Brad and Danny Grapper, Jamie (Jason) Jellison, Terry Schmidt, Corey Wenrich, Willow (Jeremy Nelson) Navarro, Carrie (Jeremy) Moon, Anecia (Levi) Beaman, Breanna (Dalton) Meade, Charity (Michael Duft) Troyer and Sarah Grapper; and numerous great grandchildren .

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Daniel Grapper and Jeff Grapper; two brothers; and four sisters.

Cremation has taken place.

Friends may sign the book Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Memorial service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 9, 2018 at Larrison Mortuary with Perry Johnson presiding.
