Alice Leone Burch, age 99, only daughter of George and Leone Dearden, passed away on November 2, 2018 in Haviland Kansas. She was born in Scott County, Kansas on February 18, 1919 where she was reared and educated. She was the oldest of 5 children.

On Thanksgiving day, November 25, 1937 she was united in marriage to Darrell Everett Burch, at her family home in Lake Township, Scott County. Everett and Alice farmed Northwest of Leoti, Kansas from 1945 – 1963, then moved to Scott City and lived there for 10 years before moving to Greensburg, Kansas. Until her retirement years she was employed in the dietary department of the Kiowa County Memorial Hospital. Everett passed away in 1990, and she continued to live in Greensburg until the tornado destroyed the town. She then moved to Haviland, Kansas where she lived the remainder of her life. She was baptized into Christ and was a member of the church of Christ in Mullinville, Kansas where she remained a faithful part of the body of Christ.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and her four brothers. She has many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Mullinville Church of Christ, 100 S. Maple, Mullinville, KS on Wednesday, November 14th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Minister, Russell Scott presiding.
