July 4 was the last day of business for Pratt's McDonald's restaurant, until sometime in October after the current building has been torn down and replaced by an all-new facility.

McDonald's Restaurant is closed as of 10 p.m. on July 4, 2018 so company ownership could begin a complete removal of the old facility to make way for a new one at 1805 E. First Street in Pratt.
"Demolition will begin starting Monday morning," said Pratt City Building Inspector Brad Blankenship.
"Their contract states 115 days, so we hope the new building is up sometime in October."
An engineering situation caused several delays in planned progress on bringing a new McDonald's to Pratt, mostly centered around a land covenant error that has now been settled.
"The new McDonald's could not be built on the grassy area west of the current building because that would block the view of another restaurant in the area," Blankenship said. "The city had nothing to do with any of the delays that happened there."
Construction plans call for a parking lot to be placed in the grassy area west of the current building, while the current building will be completely torn down and replaced with an entirely new facility. Nothing will be reused from the old facility to the new facility.
A McDonald's manager who would not give her name for reference said that the new McDonald's would feature all the latest advancements in function and design.
