William Douglas Ellis, 70, Wichita Falls, Texas, died Oct. 30, 2015, at his home, as he requested. It was a very peaceful death for him.

He had a good life with wife Noani for more than 40 years, and with second wife, Cyndi Magee Ellis, for seven years, who survives.

He is also survived by a son, Dan Ellis, Greensburg; a daughter, Stephanie Spier, Coldwater, and her children, Mathew, Catheran and James.

He was employed for many years by Heft and Sons in Greensburg, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of four years, enlisting in 1962. He served aboard the USS Chevalier Dd-805 and earned the Armed Forces expeditionary medal.

His hobbies were fishing, his knives, and he loved to pick pecans.

A military service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Falls Mortuary, Wichita Falls, Texas, is assisting with arrangements.
