Visitors invited to free presentation at Pratt Area Quilters Guild meeting.

Patricia Knoechel from the nationally known Quilt in a Day quilt company in California will make a return visit to Pratt to present a trunk show and demonstration at the Pratt Area Quilters Guild meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Pratt Senior Center, 619 N. Main. The program is free and open to the public.

Knoechel, who is Quilt in a Day creator Eleanor Burns' sister, will show sample quilts from the new QIAD book "Tales of the First Ladies and Their Quilt Blocks" and demonstrate the techniques and tools used to create these quilts.

Eleanor Burns is well known for her innovative techniques such as strip piecing, assembly line sewing, and locking seams which make constructing quilts much faster than traditional methods.

Quilters are also familiar with Eleanor Burns and Quilt in a Day from the PBS television program which airs each Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. on local Channel 8. Eleanor often mentions Knoechel and other members of her family, several of whom are involved in the production of quilts for her shows and books.

Knoechel will also have Quilt in a Day books, patterns, and tools for sale.

"These are great products for all levels of quilters from beginner to advanced, and Pat typically offers discounts at meetings," PAQG program chair Janet Shinkle said. "The Pratt guild is excited to have Pat speak at our meeting again this year. We invite everyone to come hear her."
