Greensburg-Robert C. "Bob" Banta, 62, died August 27, 2011, near Greensburg, Kansas. He was born July 10, 1949 in Liberal, Kansas, the son of Clair and Wilda (Watson) Banta. He had a Bachelor of Science degree and was a Second Administrative Manager at Boeing in Wichita. Robert served in the U.S. Navy, a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, Hutchinson, the Masonic Lodge, Greensburg, the Scottish Rite, Wichita, and was a General Aviation Pilot. Survivors include his parents, Greensburg, three sons, Jim C. Banta, Wichita, Joshua Charles Banta, Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Shawn Henson, Hutchinson, one daughter Carrie Henson, Dallas, Texas, two brothers Rex C. Banta, Andrews, Texas, and Tracy D. Banta Calamus, Iowa, and one sister Deanna Unruh, Loveland, Colorado. Funeral services and celebration of Robert's life will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at the Greensburg Christian Church with Pastors Ray Kempel and T.J. Lawson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. Memorials are suggested to the Twilight Theater, Greensburg, in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S.
