The Kiowa County Mavericks dominated the 0-4 Pawnee Heights Tigers in the league home game on Friday. There was still no magic from the yet-to-win Tigers who suffered through a 22-point unanswered run from the Mavs in the first quarter and an opening 20-point run in the second quarter in the 17-78 pummeling.

Rustin Ardery, #21 bounced back from a pair of low scoring games with an 18-point performance, shooting a mind-bottling .900 from the field, and notching a double double with a dozen rebounds. Ardery had a combined 14 points in last week’s wins at Minneola and Hodgeman County.  Damien Odle, #25 continued his strong season with a 17-point, 6 rebound game shooting .570 from the field. Mikal Behm, #35 earned all of his 9 points from the outside, making 3-of-5 three point attempts while #4 Caleb Davis had an 8-point, 4 steal game sinking 2 three pointers on four attempts. David Perez, #5 had a strong “team game” playing long minutes and recording 7 assists.

The Mavs outplayed the Tigers in all aspects of the game, shooting a team average of .550 percent, making 35-of-64 from the field and sinking a season high 7 three pointers and added insult to injury with 14 steals. It was the highest scoring game of the season since the 69-point win against Cunningham on Dec. 2.
