While at a staged campaign stop in Albuquerque, New Mexico, President Obama met with some common, everyday Americans in their backyard. Obama opened up about his faith, but if you aren't careful you might step in the logical gopher-holes running through his backyard theology.
Admittedly I am a skeptic about Obama's faith. Jesus tells us that "by their fruit" you shall know if a person is a believer or not. President Obama's policies are so radically liberal and identical to "progressive secularism" that it's hard for me to take his faith claims seriously. You be the judge if it passes the laugh test.
You can imagine my shocking disconnect between Obama affirming the "precepts of Jesus Christ" and justifying the murder of innocent pre-born babies, saying abortion should be "safe, legal and rare."
In the mind of a consistent Christian you can't have it both ways. I guess you have to be as smart as Obama to imagine Jesus condoning the murder of pre-born children, much less the most vicious forms of abortion like Obama does.
Obama is without dispute the most pro-abortion President in history, and yet has the audacity to say that it was Christ's precepts of "being my brothers and sisters' keeper, treating others as they would treat me" that appealed to him and caused him to choose to be a Christian.
So, dismembering your vulnerable and weaker fellow man in the womb is being your brother's keeper and what Obama would want for himself?
What Obama really means by being his "brother's keeper" is what he always means: the theft and redistribution of your money through the coercive powers of the government. You'll have a very difficult time justifying that on biblical grounds. Even Marx admitted that the Bible did not teach collectivism. But, Obama either doesn't care or seem bound by the need to be consistent.
If you read other accounts of Obama's conversion it sounds very much like he choose to be a Christian because, with a selective reading of a few biblical texts, he could justify to his Marxist / Socialist / Jeremiah Wright / Black Liberation political ideology. Obama has created Christ in his own image with a communist beret. No wonder he finds Christ appealing.
But, Obama is a typical, limousine Marxist hypocrite. Although he makes millions of dollars every year, his concern for his real biological family is completely lacking. Otherwise, his aunt would not have been living on government assistance in government subsidized housing.
To his credit, Obama did make something of a biblical assertion when he said, "I think also understanding that Jesus Christ dying for my sins spoke to the humility we all have to have as human beings, that we're sinful and we're flawed and we make mistakes and we achieve salvation through the grace of God."
Indeed, we are all sinners and in need of God's grace and salvation through the cross of Christ. Humility ought to characterize our lives. But Obama is not really humble at all.
He flagrantly ignores what God's Word says about human sexuality and is radically pro-homosexual. He advocates for an economic system based on envy that robs one man of the fruit of his labor to give it to other able bodied person.
Obama famously said that the matter of when life begins is above his pay grade, and yet he does everything the abortion lobby demands of him. The fact that Obama can't see the injustice of taking the life of an innocent baby reveals there is something fundamentally wrong with his moral compass. True humility would say that we must always give life the benefit of the doubt.
To quote Obama, "What we can do, as flawed as we are, is still see God in other people." What about the babies Mr. President? Don't you see God in them?
