Dear Editor,
I just wanted to get out there a few of the reasons just why I think that John Janssen should be re-elected.
First, John, as we all have learned over the past few months has a big personality, and Daniel Wallach and Dea Corns has brought to our attention that Greensburg needs that sense of humor. After the forum last Tuesday Dea Corns, Wylan Fleener, Daniel Wallach, Jackie Robertson, Taylor Schmidt, Alexsis Fleener, and I had a pretty interesting talk about the forum and it was said that we need John the next term. Daniel called John, “A colorful man, but we need that colorfulness.” And I agree we do. I remember sitting at all of those FEMA meetings, and I will be honest, they were very boring sometimes until John got up and made some humorous remark, which always lightened the tension in the tent. We needed that. Yes there are obviously times to be serious, but we need that humor factor in there that John can provide. John has found that “happy medium” between seriousness and humor.
Also, John has obviously made a ton of contacts throughout the past few months. He has talked to so many different people that want to help and a ton of companies that want to help also. If someone else takes over the mayor position, they will have to go and remake all of those contacts, or possibly lose them. That might be the biggest point of mine.
This is oviously an important time in our growth and development, and do we have time to change to a new mayor? To remake all of those contacts or lose them altogether? John has down alot of work for us, and we need him to stay onboard.
