Grace Frances Noland dead at 98

Greensburg-Grace Frances Noland, 98, died July 5, 2010, at South Wind Hospice House, Pratt, Kansas. She was born August 8, 1911 at Larned, Kansas, the daughter of Enno and Grace Davis Meckfessel. She was a homemaker. She graduated from Pawnee County Grade School in 1925 and Garfield High School in 1929. She had lived in Garfield, Larned and Greensburg. Frances was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Star of Hope Chapter, First United Methodist Church, and UMW, all of Greensburg, and had received a Fifty year service award in 4-H leadership.

On November 16, 1939, Frances married Samuel M. Noland at her parents farm home in rural Pawnee County. He preceded her in death June 27, 1977. She is survived by Two sons Harry Noland, Seward, Alaska, and Herbert Noland and wife Martyne, Lawton, Oklahoma, and one Grandson Samuel Murrel Noland, San Diego, California. She was also preceded by a sister Jean Huck.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church, Greensburg, with Pastor Terry Mayhew presiding. Burial will follow in Larned Cemetery, Larned, Kansas. A visitation will be held 4:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at Frances' home at 207 N Grove St., Greensburg. Memorials are suggested to South Wind Hospice in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S. Main, Greensburg, Kansas, 67054.
