Greensburg - Carrie Josephine Burton, 97 died June 11, 2008 at Crestview Lake Point, Wichita, Kansas. She was born January 21, 1911 in Rural Edwards County, the daughter of George and Catherine (Demain) Welsch. A lifetime resident of Greensburg she was co- owner of Fleener’s Jewelry, Greensburg. She was a member of P.E.O., Greensburg Rebekah Lodge, S.O.S., Bridge Club, and Greensburg Methodist Church and was a former Primary Sunday School Superintendent.
   On May 26, 1935 she married L.W. “Winnie” Burton at Greensburg, he died January 14, 1979.
   Survivors include a Nephew Dean & wife Betty Gamble, Hays; a Niece Norma Lee Gamble, Wichita; a Great Nephew, Ki & wife Kim Gamble; a Great Great Nephew Kasey Gamble, and a Great Great Niece Katelynn Gamble, all of Greensburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a Brother John Welsch, and a sister Pearl Gamble.
   Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Mullinville United
Methodist Church with Reverend Terry Mayhew presiding. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg.
   Visitation will be from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at the Greensburg High School Gymnasium. Memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church, Greensburg or Faith Hospice in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 763, Greensburg, KS 67054.
