Carol J. Miller, 75, of Newton, died August 12, 2009 at Asbury Place in Newton. She was born February 13, 1934 in Nickerson, Ks, the daughter of Vern Cecil and Grace Elsie Mattal Pike. She was a 1952 graduate of Nickerson High School and attended college in Great Bend and Pratt. A former resident of Nickerson, Hutchinson, Wichita and Stafford she was an occupational therapist working in several nursing homes.
On August 26, 2000, she married Jim F. Miller at the Carey Park Gazebo. He survives. Other survivors include; four sons, James Stahl of Hutchinson, Douglas Stahl of Greensburg, Steven Stahl of Hutchinson, Donald Stahl of Newton, two daughters, Janice Kirk of Wichita, Karen Ryan of Stafford, a sister, Jean Yoder of Hutchinson, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be 9 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Rev. James Spence presiding. Visitation will be 9 to 9 Friday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in Penwell -Gabels Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the KU Burn Center or the Crippled Children's Association in care of Elliott Mortuary.
