Pratt- Norman Baker Shank, 71, died July 7, 2010 at South Wind Hospice, Pratt, Kansas. He was born January 27, 1939 in Greensburg, Kansas, the son of Glenn V. and Pearl Rosemond Baker Shank. He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1957, attended Kansas University and Wichita State University for One year each and then joined his parents in opening the Western Shop and later the Southwest Gun and Coin, both in Liberal. Norman had lived in Greensburg, Liberal, Scottsdale, Arizona, and Pratt. He served in the Air Force Reserves. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Kiowa County Gun Club, both of Greensburg, The Pratt Rotary Club, The Amateur Trap Shooting Assn. and the Kansas Trap Shooters Assn. where he served as a Director.
On August 13, 1976, Norman married Pearl Pemberton in Liberal. She survives. Other survivors include Two daughters Paige, and husband Dr. Matthew Rivard, Omaha, Nebraska and Dr. Sondra and husband Mitch May, Aurora, Colorado, Four Grandchildren Jordan and Jacob Rivard and Collin and Avery May, One brother Dr. Robert and wife Debbie Shank, Emporia, Kansas, an uncle Harry and wife Betty Shank, Ness City, Kansas, Three nephews Brian and wife Bettina Shank, Neosho Rapids, Kansas, Phillip and wife Naomi Shank, Lowell, Arkansas, Scott and wife Kim Shank, Pensacola, Florida, Three cousins Jim and wife Suzette Zonker, and Phillip and wife Shari Zonker, all of Wichita, Kansas, and John and wife Karen Zonker, Jacksonville, Florida.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church, Greensburg, with Pastor Terry Mayhew presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. The family will fellowship with friends at the church following the committal service at the cemetery. A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt.
