Greensburg – Allen “Dutch” Lyon, 91, died Friday, August 1, 2008 at The Shepherd Center of Cimarron, Kansas. He was born December 22, 1916 in Greensburg, Kansas the son of Frank A. and Lola M. Lacy Lyon. He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1935 and was a lifetime resident.
He was owner and operator of the Greensburg Locker Plant for 35 years. He then was a furniture salesman for Fleener Home Furnishing from 1974 until retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Kiowa County Masonic Lodge, the Order of Easter Star, the Greensburg Chamber of Commerce, and the Greensburg Lions Club.
On December 31, 1939 he married Pauline England in Greensburg. She preceded in death on October 19, 1999.
Survivors include one son, Jeff Lyon and wife Judy of West Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter, Deanna Beckett and husband, Mark of Garden City, Kansas; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at the Haviland Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry Mayhew presiding. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery. Greensburg, Kansas. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the Haviland UMC.
