OBIT: Rufus P. “Lucky” Miller, 71

Rufus P. “Lucky” Miller, 71 passed away on Dec. 26 2011 at South Wind Hospice in Pratt. Rufus was born on Sept. 6 1940 in Gladewater, Tx to William and Bertha (Heath) Miller. Rufus retired in 2008 as a diesel mechanic with the APAC Kansas Shears Division. He married Darline Bass in Burlington, Ks on Oct. 27, 2001. He had been a Mullinville resident since moving there in 2004. Rufus is survived by his wife Darline of Mullinville, his son Tim Miller of Wichita, his two daughters Lina Ivie of Mullinville and Samantha Parker of Sikes, La., his brother Leon, his sister Edna and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in passing by his his parents William and Bertha, his son Gary Miller, three brothers Willie, Dwayne and Lester, and three sisters Ruby, Opal and Judy.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday Dec. 28, 2011 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Mullinville, Ks with Rev. Dale Miller officiating. There was no public visitation.  Memorials can be sent to the Rufus P. Miller Memorial Fund c/o Minnis Mortuary , PO Box 516 Bucklin, Ks.
