Greensburg- John Thomas "Tom" Brower, 65, died Friday, August 26, 2011, at the Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita, Kansas. He was born April 14, 1946 in Chanute, Kansas, The son of Le Roy and Nellie Catherine (Bower) Brower. He had lived in Moran and Greensburg, Kansas. Tom graduated from Moran High School in 1964. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1966, and was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Masonic Lodge. On July 10, 2001 Tom married Linda Ahrens in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters Angela R. Brower and Karen R. Brower, both of Wichita and Janelle Hickey and husband Roger, Great Bend, one brother Ron and wife Kay Brower, Girard, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son David Michael Brower in 1994. Funeral services and celebration of Tom's life will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, Greensburg, with Pastor Marvin George officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association and the Kiowa County Veterans Memorial, both in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S. Main, Greensburg, Kansas, 67054.
