William (Bill) Clayton Batman was born on November 18, 1931 in Greensburg, Kansas to Clayton and Olive Batman.  Much of his childhood was spent working on the family farm where he developed a strong work ethic that he would retain for the rest of his life.

Bill graduated from Greensburg High School in 1949.  Upon graduation, he continued to farm with his parents while working for the Security Oil Company. Bill married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Nadine Davis on December 25, 1950. Their union was blessed with two daughters Brenda Kay in 1951 and Rebecca Sue in 1954.

Bill worked for Cities Service while making their home in Greensburg and then Satanta, Kansas. In 1974, Bill accepted a job offer at Agrico Chemical in Claremore, Oklahoma where he and Beverly made their home for the next 44 years. Bill retired from Terra Nitrogen (Agrico) in 1997.

Bill was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve. He was an avid gun and knife enthusiast, as well as a huge fan of John Wayne and Louis L'Amour.

Bill passed away on September 23, 2018 at his home in Claremore. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Olive Batman; and his two younger brothers, Dale Batman and Dean Batman. He is survived by his wife, Beverly of the home, two daughters, Becky Batman of Claremore and Brenda Yoder of Grove, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Heather Kizer and her husband, Jarrod of Claremore, Ryan Maine of Grove, Heath Barker and his wife, Lee of Satanta, Clayton Maine and his wife, Shelby of Grove and Dustin Leland of Vinita, Oklahoma;  his eight great grandchildren, Spenser, Zach, and Josh Ward, Austin Baldwin, Tara, Kyle, and Ryan Maine, and Halton Barker; his three great great grandchildren, Marley, Isaiah, and Maddyx; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and Clark Paxton of California; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives he touched.
