According to a member of the investment group backing Home Again Senior Living, the recent decision that will have Haviland’s Christy Jacks replacing John Unruh as manager of the assisted living facility in several weeks was one mutually arrived at between Unruh and the group vested in the facility.
Unruh was reportedly ready to step down due to the long hours the position required, while the investors thought the facility could more flexibly serve residents with Jacks, a registered nurse, overseeing the facility.
Jacks, who has been employed as an RN at Pratt Regional Medical Center, will begin working at Home Again February 17 as the “designated operator” carrying out managerial duties under Unruh’s license. She told the Signal she’ll be attending classes in Topeka March 3-5 and 8-10 to get her management license requirements fulfilled. She’ll then take over as full time manager March 11.
