INCEPTION

Christopher Nolan follows up his box-office sensation “The Dark Knight” with a sci-fi thriller starring Leonard DiCaprio as a member of a special team of spies that invade people’s dreams. Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are along for the ride in this twisty, shape-shifting extravaganza that will either thrill or confuse the heck out of you.

THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT

Julianne Moore and Annette Bening play a lesbian couple whose artificially inseminated children (Mia Wasikowska of “Alice in Wonderland” and Josh Hutcherson of “Bridge to Terabithia”) seek out the sperm donor, played by Mark Ruffalo. Lisa Cholodenko (“Laurel Canyon”) directs.

THE LAW

An oldie but a goodie starring Gina Lollobrigida, Marcello Mastroianni, Yves Montand, Melina Mercouri, and Pierre Brasseur in a seedy tale about a femme fatale (Lollobrigida) who literally plays games with the horny men in her small Mediterranean town.

WILD GRASS

Fifty years after his masterpiece, “Hiroshima Mon Amour,” director Alain Resnais returns with another unconventional love story; this one about a lost wallet opening up romantic possibilities for the man (André Dussollier) who found it and the woman (Sabine Azéma) who lost it.

STANDING OVATION

Five friends in junior high school form a singing group, “The 5 Ovations,” and compete in a contest to win $1 million.
