Here’s the “TCM Remembers” montage for 2011, paying tribute to some of the movie personalities who died in the past 12 months. As a rule, these are always better than the similar montages shown during the Academy Awards, with broader choices that reflect a true history of cinema and music/editing miles beyond anything the Oscar show achieves (or, frankly, attempts).
As a lifelong cult movie fan, I was glad to see Tura Satana, Yvette Vickers and Charles Napier included. And I could guess who was going to be the last one in the montage — especially considering it’s Turner CLASSIC...
