This Day in History
June 21, 1964: Three civil rights workers, Andrew Goodman, James Chaney and Mickey Schwerner, are murdered in Mississippi by members of the Ku Klux Klan. The state of Mississippi declined to prosecute anyone for murder (although the federal government did prosecute for other charges) until 2005.
