  • Two arrested in Hudson after shots fired

  • Two Great Bend residents were arrested in Hudson, Sunday, in connection with an alleged domestic dispute and shots fired.

  • Benjamin and Robert Bruce were arrested in Hudson in connection with an alleged domestic dispute and shots fired Sunday.
    Police responded to a report of a man beating a woman in the yard of the residence at 205 South View Street in Hudson at 6:50 p.m.
    “We responding to a domestic call when we got another call of ‘shots fired’ in the area near the residence,” said Stafford County Sheriff deputy Tom Fischer.
    According to the sheriff’s report Benjamin Bruce, Great Bend, allegedly assault his girlfriend, Kimberly Long outside of the residence.
    A group of individuals that were having a family gathering in the park nearby witnessed the disturbance and went over to intervene.
    Robert Bruce also from Great Bend went into the house at 205 South View and returned with a shotgun that he fired into the air, telling people to ‘get out of his [expletive] yard.’
    When police arrived they detained one female outside of the residence, and one of the male individuals, who was laying on the ground near a parked car in front of the house as well as two individuals inside the home.
    Robert Bruce was charged with criminal discharge of a fire armed on a $10,000 bond. Benjamin Bruce was booked on domestic aggravated assault and held on a $20,000 bond.
    Officers from Kansas Highway Patrol, Stafford and St. John assisted in the arrests.
