If you’ve ever accidentally yanked a drawer out of a dresser and spilled the contents, you’ll appreciate this tip from Club member Don Olmstead of Pearl, Mississippi. Drill a 1/2-in. hole through each of the drawer sides 3 in. from the drawer back. Then insert 1/2-in.-dia. x 2-in. dowels into each of the holes. The dowels should fit snugly but still be easy to remove. Once the dowels are in place, they’ll keep the drawers from being pulled out too far, but still allow drawer removal.
