  • I greatly enjoyed your latest piece on the Twilight Theatre. As you so aptly put it, it was always a family theater.
In 1980 when we moved to Greensburg to assume the active day-to-day operation of the theatre it was again definitely a family business. Our oldest son John assumed the projection duties, which he continued until he graduated from high school and left Greensburg to serve six years in the Navy, at which time younger son Sam took the responsibility on.
Those, who were around then will remember my wife Barbara operating the old Manley Popcorn Machine with the cast iron kettle using coconut oil and real sweet cream butter to turn out the best buttered popcorn anyone ever had.
They will also remember my smiling daughter Suzanne handling the candy and cash register duties.
Thank you Mr. Clement for the chance to reminisce on the two previous generations that enjoyed the experience of the theatre and regret that we couldn’t pass on the experience to the next generation, Kristen, Ben and Katie Spainhour there in Greensburg.
