The J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation announced on Friday it had awarded $300,000 in challenge grant funding to the yet-to-be completed Twilight Theatre and Community Auditorium.
“We are deeply grateful for their faithful partnership in our project,” said Twilight Board President Roger Staats. “The timing is great and it’s a wonderful blessing.”
The Twilight Theatre is amidst a final fundraising push to close a $760,000 funding gap.
Board memebrs have been meeting with city and county officials in recient months seeking public assistance to complete the final phases of construction on the 18,500 sq. ft. multi-use facility.
“This comes at a crucial time in our fundraising effort and we look forward to meeting that challenge over the next several months through the generous support of our donors and friends who understand and value the incredible business and entertainment opportunities that the facility will support in our area,” said Twilight Board Memebr Brad Estes.
The J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation Inc., a Delaware based non-profit corporation, was formed in 1948 by John E. and Lottie Mabee. With offices in Tulsa, Okla. the purposes of the foundation are to aid Christian religious organizations, charitable organizations, and institutions of higher learning, hospitals, and other organizations of a general charitable nature.
