Kiowa County Signal’s Maverick Most Valuable Player Second Runner-Up
#25 Damien Odle
(14% of Total Votes)
Odle joins the other ‘Big Three’ players in rounding out nearly identical selections as last year.
It was, by all accounts, a bit of a down year for Odle, who led in almost all offensive categories last season, although an ankle injury slowed him down for most of the first half of this season.
Odle still have a very good season ranking third in points-per-game (11.8), third in total points (247), third in field percentage (.480), second in free throw percentage (.660) and was second in steals (34).
While his offensive numbers may have been down slightly, his offensive numbers well exceeded last season’s stats.
Odle led the team in blocked shots (29), defensive rebounds (112) and total rebounds (146). He was second in personal fouls (60).
Odle earned a “Most Valuable Player” honor in the Signal’s MVP voting last year.
“By all accounts he had a great season,” said one voter. “I think the fact that he had such a great junior year might have set expectations very high.”
“I saw a lot of things I liked about his game play this year, mature things,” said another voter. “I don’t care about he numbers being a little off.”
