Scripture:   Acts 23:23 NIV Then he called two of his centurions and ordered them, “Get ready a detachment of two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen and two hundred spearmen to go to Caesarea at nine tonight.

24  Provide horses for Paul so that he may be taken safely to Governor Felix.”

Observation:    Paul had been taken into custody by the Romans.  One might think this was a bad place for Paul to be.  But really it was a safe place for Paul to be.  Forty Jewish zealots had bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul.  When the Romans heard about their plan, they put together a detachment that was more than enough to protect Paul, and they delivered Paul to a place of safety.

Application:     That which confines me may be what God is using to protect me.

Prayer:   Lord, I can trust you to work out your perfect plan for my life.      Amen
