This Tuesday the St. John Tigers men and women will be playing Wichita's Word of Life at the Champion Church, located at 1156 North Oliver.

The games should be interesting, especially the men's game. "The Tigers play a very talented Word of Life team," said St. John's head coach Clint Kinnamon. "They beat perennial national power Vashon this season." And according to Maxspreps, they have a record of five wins and four loses. But that's very deceptive, considering the caliber of competition they face. They barely lost to Independence 56-59, beat Vashon 42-38, defeated North Kansas City 49-47, lost to Raytown South 51-54 and lost to Manhattan 42-65. They've clobbered several Church and independent schools.

On the girls side, the Lady Tigers will face a 3-9 Word of Life squad. Most of the teams they play are Church, independent and Indian schools. They did play Parsons, losing 51-72, lost to Manhattan 25-86 and defeated Liberal 57-22.

The games will NOT be played in their high school but in a larger gym located right next to the Champion Church on North Oliver.

The quickest way to get to the game is to take the K-96 bypass that goes around north Wichita and turn off on the Oliver Street Exit - go south past 21st 17th and 13th streets until you arrive at the Church which is located on the southeast corner of Oliver and 11th street.
