Former St. John graduate Teresa Wade was recently selected as the Jayhawk Juco Conference volleyball "Play of the Year" having a stellar season playing the the Hutchinson Community College's Blue Dragons.

Former St. John graduate Teresa Wade was recently selected as the Jayhawk Juco Conference volleyball "Player of the Year" having a stellar season playing with the Hutchinson Community College's Blue Dragons volleyball team as a freshman.

Not only did Wade have a number of awards during the season including "PLayer of the Week" several times, she was selected All-Conference, leading the Conference with 376 kills. She placed second in digs for the Blue Dragons with 315 behind her roommate, libero Samantha Lackey who had 544.

And the season is not over for Wade since the 27-8 Dragons, the Region Six Champions move on to the National Junior College Association Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 15 at Missouri's West Plains Junior College where they will be matched up against 22-5 North Idaho at 11am.

On Friday, Nov. 16 the winner of the Hutchinson vs. North Idaho match plays the winner of the 33-6 Wallace State vs. 37-2 Western Nebraska match in the quarterfinals at 5:30pm. The losers play each other in the ninth place quarterfinals at 10:00am.

On Saturday, Nov. 17 the teams playing for seventh place and nineth place will play at noon on courts 1 & 2, while those vying for fifth place play at 2:30pm., third place at 4:30pm. and the NJCAA National Championship match at 6:30pm.
