  • Kiowa County Commissioners District 2
    Bert Lowery (Challenger)
  • What experience or qualifications will you bring to this office? “I’ve been in the contracting and road contracting business a long time. I understand paperwork and budgets and I know how to manage a business. I know how to handle money and I know how to spend it and use it in the right way.”
  • What makes you the better candidate for this position?“  Like I said I have experience in road and bridge and contracting and budgets. I’ve built and spent from a budget and so I understand both sides of the field.”
  • What will be your top priorities after taking office, should you be elected? “I’m going to come in and see how the county works. I want to see what type of position the county is in with it’s spending and it’s debt. The debt is a big deal, a lot of people are concerned about how much we owe. I want to see how each department operates.”

     Bonnie Kuhn (Challenger)
  • What experience or qualifications will you bring to this office? “I spent 20 years in banking helping customers and small businesses. I think that I am open-minded and I listen to people without an agenda. For me it’s about communication. I’ve been a county resident for 27 years and I want to make decision for the entire community.”
  • What makes you the better candidate for this position? “I’ll listen to people. I’ve helped people with finances and objectives. I’ve worked with people to reach their ambitions and to build a life. I’ve always tried to work with them to solve problems and I think that has kept me objective. I can look at different solutions and be responsible to find the best solution.”
  • What will be your top priorities after taking office, should you be elected? “I think that the commissioners have done a good job. They’ve been through a lot. I want to continue what they’ve done without passing the burden on to the taxpayer. We need to make sure we have the income to cover all of our expenses.”
