Midwest Christian College Conference (MCCC) volleyball play is well under way and the Bears are finding it to be tough sledding. This weekend the Bears faced off against Calvary Bible College (Kansas City, MO) and Ozark Christian College (Joplin, MO).
Calvary Bible College (Kansas City, MO) came to Hockett Auditorium on Friday evening and were able to find revenge after losing to the Bears in straight sets one week prior. The opening set was dominated by the Bears 25-12 but the Warriors of Calvary Bible stormed back to win three sets in a row, 24-26, 19-25, and 15-25.
On Saturday afternoon, the Ambassadors of Ozark Christian won in straight sets 16-25, 13-25, and 22-25, but with plenty of scares from the Bears. It took a 10-0 run by the Ambassadors to pull away mid-way through the first set and then in the third set, the Bears built a 22-17 lead before allowing Ozark Christian to score eight in a row to close out the match.
The Bears (3-6, 1-3) will host NAIA Southwestern Christian College (Bethany, OK) on Tuesday night at 7:00 PM CST and then will travel to Ankeny, IA for a conference match against Faith Baptist Bible College at 7:00 PM.
