  • The Kiowa County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary met Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012 in the Hospital basement conference room with 12 members and one guest.  Thanks goes to the Dietary Department for providing a delicious meal.  There was no Executive Meeting this month.  Secretary, June Boettcher, assisted by leading the group in the Auxiliary Prayer.
After the meal, we were pleased to hear the testimonial of Morgan Silva.  She recently graduated from Barclay College and has been accepted to Friends University in Wichita.  However, she will take a break from schooling to spend time with her twin sons.  Morgan described herself as “being in a dark place” during her teen and early adult years.  She stated that, even though unplanned, her pregnancy was the turning point in her life.  There were classes suggested and she was introduced to a minister and his wife who were an influence on improving her health and going to church.  Since then, she has given her life to the Lord, attends services regularly, leads a women’s Bible study at the Greensburg Mennonite Church, and is attempting to bring services to Haviland for single mothers.  Notify her if you would like to hear her motivational testimony.
The regular meeting then began with the reading of the minutes from the August meeting.  With two corrections, were approved.  Treasurer, Roberta Seiler, briefed the group on the account balance.  Old business topics were reviewed.  For new business the group was reminded that the November meeting will be the first Wednesday and the speaker will be Chad Pore, EMS Director, and he present to the group about insurance coverage relating to air transports (helicopters/fixed wing).  November is also the month to invite potential new members and this will be a good topic to hear so, if interested in this topic, invite friends and neighbors.  Christmas is approaching quickly and our group will be again hosting the annual “Holiday Craft and Bake Sale.”  This will be Dec. 5, 2012 from 12:30-3 p.m.  This will also be the date for our December meeting to conduct the nomination of the 2013 Executive Committee.  Minnie Koehn, Vice-President, will be contacting the members to form the Nominating Committee.
The KCMH Auxiliary would like to express our condolences to the families of Forrest Lee Einsel-Lewis and John Fleener.  Many may remember that Forrest Lee was a member of the committee that founded the organization and was the first KCMHA President.  John and Barbara Fleener were Charter Associate Members and all maintained their memberships.  Their loss is profound and will be missed.
October is National Physical Therapy Month and Tanya Yoder, RPT, will be the guest presenter on October 10th.  Also this reminder that if you would like to continue membership, dues can be made starting in October.  Meeting adjourned
