  • The Kiowa County Media Center announced on Monday that they would videotape and make available the upcoming Kiowa County Town Hall Debates.
The media center will record and host video of both 45-minute debates, which are scheduled to take place July 26 at the Haviland Hardware Store in Haviland and on Aug. 3 at the Kiowa County Senior Center in Greensburg.
The debates are being co-sponsored by the Kiowa County Signal and the Kiowa County Chamber of Commerce.
“We expect a good turnout for both of the debates,” said Kiowa County Signal Editor Patrick Clement. “Making them available on-line will give voters the opportunity to participate, even if they are unable to attend.”
Media Center President Janet West said the debates would be broadcast via the Media Center website and The Kiowa County Signal website without cuts or editing. They will be recorded in their entirety from start to finish.
West said the July 26 debate will be available within 48 hours and the August 3 debate will be available within 24 hours.
“Events like this is exactly what the media center was designed to do,” said West. “To inform the public and to pull them into the process so they can make an informed decision in the upcoming election.”
