Summer is here and that is always a busy time for our office. I wanted to give all my readers an update on what Kiowa County 4-H members are doing.
We had 25 campers from Kiowa County attend Wildhorse Camp on June 11-13. This is a five fold increase from just 2 years ago. We had 15 new campers attending camp this year. They camp at Scott City at Camp Lakeside.
I want to thank those parents that helped transport kids to and from camp as well as our 2 adult sponsors. We could not have made this happen without you.
Getting ready for the 2012 fair is also on the agenda for 4-H families and leaders. We have had several county wide leaders helping the 4- H members with their projects. Again we could not have the success of the program without caring and knowledgeable leaders.
This year’s fair books were in the Kiowa County Signal this week. Be sure to get the paper and see all the events and programs the Fair Board has planned for this years fair.
We do have books available in the Extension Office if you don’t have one. Just stop by and pick one up.
Fair dates for this year are July 24-27. The public fashion revue will be July 23rd at the Kiowa County Hospital Conference Room. I hope you will mark these dates and come see what these talented 4-H’s have been doing this summer.
